List of documents required to apply for marriage

Are you planning to start a family with the loved one, but are not sure of the documents that need to be submitted to the registry office?

In order to submit an application for marriage registration to the Marriage Registry Office department, the following documents are required:

• A civil passport or passport document (for a foreigner - a foreign one)
• For those who were previously married - a document confirming its termination.

Documents issued by the competent authority of a foreign state must be legalized accordingly, unless otherwise provided by international treaties of Ukraine, the consent to be bound by which was provided by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Foreigners and stateless persons present a passport document or a document certifying the identity of a stateless person, and a permanent or temporary residence permit, or other document confirming the legality of their stay on the territory of Ukraine.

Documents drawn up in a foreign language are submitted together with their translations into Ukrainian, which are certified in accordance with the established procedure.
