Passport translation: why is it needed?

Almost all countries require a notarized translation of a passport for various purposes. Most often, the translation of the main personal document is needed for two categories of citizens: foreigners staying in Ukraine and Ukrainians traveling abroad. In the first case, the state authorities of our country often require the translation of the passport into Ukrainian. In the second case, a notarized translation into the language of the country in which the person is located is required.

When is it necessary?

When traveling abroad, a citizen of Ukraine must make a passport translation, if they want to:

• get an education in a foreign educational institution;

• get a residence permit abroad.

Foreign citizens who have arrived on the territory of Ukraine may also face the need to order a passport translation. For example, this is necessary in such situations:

• when applying for a work permit;
• when applying for a migration card;

• if you wish to become a citizen of Ukraine;
• when making notarial actions;
• when buying real estate;
• when performing certain banking operations.
