Apostille is a seal of international significance of an established pattern, affixed to a document of a certain type to give it legal force on the territory of foreign states.
Each Apostille is affixed by the competent authority, which is determined by the type of document.
1. By the Ministry of Justice an apostille is affixed to: certificates (birth, marriage, name change, death, etc.), court decisions, notarial documents (application, power of attorney);
2. Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine: Police Clearance Certificate, medical certificate (form 082), certificate of registration of residence (form 13), certificate of confirmation of the issuance of a driver’s license and confirmed categories of transport, etc..
3. Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine - educational documents: diplomas, certificates and appendices, certificates, certificates, curricula, etc..
The legislation of the countries that signed the Hague Convention of 1961 requires the presence of an Apostille seal.
