Saudi Arabia joined the international Hague Convention.

Saudi Arabia joined the international Hague Convention of 1961, also known as the Apostille Convention.
On April 8, 2022, Saudi Arabia applied to join the Hague Convention of 1961, which abolishes the requirement for legalization of foreign official documents (Apostille Convention).
Apostille is a special mark (stamp) placed on official documents created in one country for use in another country. Apostille is a simplified legalization procedure that replaces the longer consular legalization procedure.
The Apostille Convention entered into force for Saudi Arabia on December 7, 2022. The Kingdom became the 123rd country to ratify this Hague Apostille Convention.

The accession of Saudi Arabia to the Convention shall mean the following:
1) Evidence of growing interest in the Hague Apostille Convention in the Middle East. Earlier, the preamble to the Bahrain Convention of December 31, 2013 was tampered with Oman from January 30, 2012.
2) It greatly facilitates the submission of government documents in the Arab region and in the whole world, since in some of these countries legalization, especially documents of legal entities, is very expensive and complicated in procedure.
